Shaking Meditation
Updated: Mar 22, 2021
When we heard the word meditation, a picture of a human sitting quietly with closed eyes has comes to mind. But in reality that was just one type of meditation. Basically meditation is divided into three different types based on how we perform them: Active meditation, Passive Meditation & Social Meditation.
What is Shaking Meditation?
Shaking meditation is a kind of dynamic meditation. This technique helps to release the tension from your body. Shaking meditation isn’t the official term, though—the practice is actually known as trauma-releasing exercises. This technique helps to releases tension from all the joints in the body such as the neck, wrist, shoulder, back, and knee. These joints are affected.
How does it work?
We have noticed that the mammals shake their body. A cat shaking its body after taking a big jump, a snake shakes its body before attacking its prey. All these mammals have released their old energy by shaking of their body.
Similarly, by shaking your body we humans can also release old energy, stress, and tension. Just by shaking for 5 to 10 minutes a day, can take away all the stress & tension of the day. Shaking activates the parasympathetic nervous system and signals the brain to calm, relax, and let go.
How to do Shaking Meditation:
(Set an alarm of 5 minutes to 15 minutes.)
1. Stand with your feet, shoulder-width apart.
2. Keep your body loose.
3. And knees slightly bend.
4. Keep your mouth slightly open and chin down.
5. Shake your body on the music.
